National Social
Work Month2024
SOCIAL WORK OFFERS POSSIBILITIES
Throughout March, CASW proudly celebrates the newly revised Code of Ethics (2024) and social work’s seven shared values emphasizing our commitments to truth and reconciliation. In our Seven Points of Unity, we find the essence of social work—a profession that embodies the limitless potential of human connection and empowerment.
This #NSWM2024, let’s recognize the many ways #SocialWorkOffersPossibilities and celebrate social workers everywhere for their tireless efforts and relentless pursuit of a better world.
This National Social Work Month, we honour and celebrate our shared values—the Seven Points of Unity—that guide us on our individual and collective journeys of truth, reconciliation, equity, and inclusion.
Together, as social workers, we weave a tapestry of hope and resilience, striving to create a more just future where all are valued and honoured through ethical, evidence-based, and empowering professional practice. From these Seven Points of Unity, let’s imagine the many possibilities social workers have for building a peaceful and compassionate world.
- Respecting the dignity and Worth of Persons
- Promoting social justice
- Pursuing truth and reconciliation
- Valuing human relationships
- Preserving truth in professional practice
- Maintaining privacy and confidentiality
- Providing competent and professional services
